Lincoln, Neb.//March 17, 2008// John Jacobs, president and CEO of the UNIFI Companies, announced the following officer elections, effective March 1, 2008.
Nancy Dalessio was elected senior vice president and chief information officer for UNIFI Companies. In her leadership role for information technology, she is responsible for the overall development a UNIFI technology strategy in conjunction with the business units, to develop and maintain high quality and effective IT operations, to enable new technology capability and work with the businesses to help design and build new and competitive business solutions.
Nancy brings comprehensive information systems, technology and business leadership experience in the financial services industry. She was a partner/owner of Strategic Business Solutions and served as an executive business and technology consultant since 1999. During her 23-year career with Mass Mutual Financial Group, Nancy held various leadership positions including senior vice president of information systems and technology and vice president and project manager for corporate merger. She had extensive knowledge and experience across corporate operating divisions and as a leader of information systems and technology.
Nancy graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Mass.
Dennis Kelleher, CLU, was elected vice president – agency distribution for Ameritas Life and Union Central. He is responsible for building Tier 4 agencies.
With 25 years of industry experience, Dennis has served both in the field and home office. He came to UNIFI from a major mutual company. His experience as a field vice president of recruiting and developing large agencies focused on career distribution matched well with UNIFI’s desire to grow its field force.
Dennis graduated from Rider College, Lawrenceville, New Jersey, with a Bachelor of Science degree in commerce. He is a member of the General Agents and Managers Association.
Al Litton, FLMI, ACS, was elected vice president – information technology for Ameritas Life, Acacia Life and Union Central. Al provides leadership and direction for corporate information technology systems and activities, including the PRISM PeopleSoft project.
Starting as a consultant at Ameritas in April 2006, Al led information technology merger-related activities for shared services. He was hired in September 2006 as director of IT shared services.
Al graduated from Emporia State University, Emporia, Kansas, with a B.S. degree in mathematics. He earned a Master of Computer Systems Management degree from Creighton University, Omaha, Nebraska.
He earned the professional designations MHP (Managed Healthcare Professional) and HIA (Health Insurance Associate). Al is a member of the LOMA Society of Nebraska.
Bob Herum was elected second vice president – disability income sales. In this position, Bob is responsible for managing all aspects of the disability income sales, including DI marketing and DI competition.
Bob brings 21 years of experience in the insurance industry to his new position with Union Central. He has demonstrated success as a producer, wholesaler and as manager. Most recently, Bob was a manager for Colonial Life Insurance Company, where he was responsible for the Indiana sales territory. Previously, he served as national training director and field vice president for strategic relationships for American United Life Insurance Company. He also was a successful brokerage consultant for Provident Life & Accident Insurance Company in Columbus, Ohio.
Bob is a graduate of Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He served in the United States Army for eight years on assignments throughout the United States and overseas. Bob is currently a Colonel in the Army Reserves and assigned as Deputy Commander, 310th ESC in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Rick O'Reilly ,CLU,ChFC, was elected second vice president – agency distribution for Acacia Life. He is responsible for recruiting general agents.
Rick joined the company in June 2007 as regional vice president to recruit personal producing general agents (PPGAs). Prior to joining UNIFI Companies, he was a regional vice president for a major insurance company.
A graduate of the University of Dayton, Dayton, Ohio, Rick majored in criminal justice and minored in psychology and political science.
He earned the professional designations CLU, ChFC, CASL, LUTCF, and holds the Series 6, 63, and 26 securities licenses.
Rick is a member of NAIFA (National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors), SFSP (Society of Financial Services Professionals) and GAMMA International. He serves as president of the Financial Services Marketing Association (FSMA).
